Foundation

to promote

culture and the arts

The foundation, founded in 2009, has the purpose of promoting culture and the arts. A focus should lie on the conservation of the oeuvre of Hans Purrmann (1880-1966) and the dissemination of knowledge regarding the oeuvre to the public.

The purpose is implemented by way of the following measures:

  • The promotion of academic studies of the oeuvre of Hans Purrmann (scholarships, the publication of dissertations and postdoctoral theses)
  • The cooperation with the Hans Purrmann Archive,
  • The support of museums that act in accordance with the purpose of the foundation,
  • The support of the Grand Hans Purrmann Prize of the City of Speyer as well the Hans Purrmann Prize of the City of Speyer for the Fine Arts (advancement award),
  • The initiation and commissioning of publications regarding the life and oeuvre of Hans Purrmann,
  • The providing of assistance for national and international exhibitions,
  • The initiation and organization of academic lectures and colloquia,
  • The acquisition of works of art
